FJ Cruiser

A car is not a good investment if you’re looking at the rate or return, unless you are buying a very rare or low production car. If you are purchasing a car it will more than likely depreciate in value the longer you own it and the more miles you put on it. This is especially true for large production volume companies like Honda and Toyota. For some reason the Toyota FJ Cruiser did not get the memo. The FJ Cruiser has held its value several years after leaving the showroom. Many owners bought the car, drove very few miles, and then almost doubled their money when they sold the car. The owners fell in love with the large hatchback styling while maintaining superior off road capabilities. There is a Toyota Racing Development or TRD edition that was fitted with special wheels, tires, and body kits that are extremely desireable in the FJ crowd. Many of the owners who drove the car regularly are still able to sell the car for near if not higher than the manufacturer suggested retail price new. According to Autoblog’s survey of lowest depreciation value of a car the FJ Cruiser ranked 9th and was the only car on the list not in production. This has made FJ Cruisers something to get revved up about if they choose to part with their off road companion, though few owners are willing to.
