Koenigsegg, you might not be able to pronounce their name. You might not even know who they are or what they do, but you have felt their presence in the automotive world. Koenigsegg is a relatively low volume production car company that produces only the best of the best supercars on the road. Christian Von Koenigsegg started on his journey in 1994 and began designing and testing his personal designs until he was ready for production in 2002 with the CC8S. The CC8S came out with a whopping 646 hp and 553 ft-lb per second and a 0-60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds that would keep accelerating at the same rate all the way to 242 mph. This is one of the fastest cars in the world at the time. This vehicle made a statement for the company in a big way, through winning several awards and it established Koenigsegg as a force to be reckoned with. Koenigsegg made a few more models after CC82 including the CCR, CCGT, Agera, Agera RS, a few other special edition models and their latests edition One:1. The One:1 is named for its one to one power to weight ratio. It uses a combination lightweight carbon fiber materials and a high performance 5.0 liter engine to have 1360 PS to 1360 kg giving the name One:1. This combination of ultra lightweight body and power to weight ratio allow the One:1 to go from 0 to 186 mph and back to 0 in a record setting pace of  just under 18 seconds, it takes 20 seconds to reach 240 mph and will keep accelerating all the way to 273 mph. Koenigsegg continues to design lighter and more powerful cars and the next car released for production, the Regera, is expected to amaze. The Regera will come with a hybrid V8 that is expected to produce 1822 hp and be the most powerful production car ever. It even has an entirely new drivetrain that does not require a transmission called Direct Drive System, invented by Christian Von Koenigsegg himself.  I am looking forward to seeing what new developments will come from this low volume but high impact company.
